The University of Northampton Waterside project included the construction of five new teaching buildings and the conversion of a Grade 2 listed engine shed on a brown field site to deliver the client’s aspiration to be an internationally facing University committed to delivering outstanding life-changing opportunities in education. The construction was required to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating and ensure the entire campus is low carbon. Doorsets and glazed screens were specified to satisfy the requirement for high quality interior finishes meeting the high-performance levels and service conditions of this brand-new teaching facility.
O2. Plan
Integrated Doorset Solutions worked closely with joinery contractor Bespoke Building and Joinery Projects Ltd to deliver high performance fully integrated doorsets complete with glazed screens, suited ironmongery and access control solutions. Integrated Doorsets supplied over 2,000 factory assembled doorsets for the project which were installed by Bespoke Joinery. All products supplied were fully compliant with the specified regulations and standards to ensure the highest levels of fire and acoustic performance were achieved.
O3. Build
Hard wearing and durable laminate faced doors with timber frames and screens were manufactured to meet the exacting requirements of a busy education facility. Fire and acoustic performance doorsets, achieving up to 60 minutes and 35 RwdB, with screens achieving up to 47 RwdB, ensured the client’s brief was fully adhered to. The project also included a number of bespoke doorset solutions, designed, tested and manufactured specifically to meet the demanding needs of this high profile project.
O4. Deliver
The £123M project included over 2,000 doorsets which were successfully delivered on budget over a 9 month period with the building opening on schedule in mid-2018. Both the client and contractor were delighted with the performance of Integrated Doorset Solutions throughout the project and we are proud to have played key part in delivering this prestigious project for the client.
