Wood Wharf, J1-J3

We’ve been proud to support a major residential development in the heart of London, Wood Wharf J1–J3, where our team supplied a large volume of high-performance doorsets across multiple buildings. Now that the project is complete, it’s a good moment to reflect on what made it such a strong example of how we work.

From the outset, it was clear this would be an ambitious scheme, both in scale and in the level of detail required. The development includes hundreds of apartments, with doorsets needed for entrances, internals, and communal areas. We worked closely with our client, Avis Contracts, throughout the programme, coordinating deliveries in line with the build schedule and ensuring every product met spec.

One of the most distinctive features of the project was the use of Character Oak Veneer on the apartment entrance doors. These doors brought a warm, high-end finish to each apartment and were designed with multi-point locking systems to provide added security for residents. Each entrance doorset also featured character oak extension liners on primed frames, a subtle but important detail that helped balance function and finish.

For the internal doors, we supplied dual-faced doorsets, oak-faced on the corridor side and primed on the internal face, giving the client flexibility to decorate interiors as needed, while maintaining a consistent appearance in communal spaces. These weren’t just about appearance either. Built using our reliable Ovi cores, each doorset was supplied to the correct fire and acoustic performance ratings. Across the development, we delivered FD30, FD60, and FD120-rated doors, with FD30 and FD60 sets also achieving a 32dB acoustic rating, helping to reduce noise in what are now busy apartment blocks.

Strong communication with both Avis Contracts and the site teams made a real difference. On a job of this size, the logistics are just as important as the product itself. We kept everything moving, hitting deadlines and delivering consistent quality throughout.

Now that the final doors are in place, it’s rewarding to look back on the role we played in bringing this project to life. Wood Wharf J1–J3 is a great example of how attention to detail, in product, performance, and process, adds lasting value.
