How We Delivered a Tailored Doorset Solution for a High-End Residential Project

At Integrated Doorsets, we take great pride in delivering bespoke doorset solutions that are tailored to the unique demands of each project. One of our recent projects, a mixed-use residential development in London, gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase our adaptability, technical expertise, and commitment to quality.

What started as a straightforward request for a series of primed doorsets to be finished on-site quickly evolved into something far more complex. As the design developed, it became clear that several of the doorsets, particularly those in the high-visibility concierge area, needed a premium finish to match a Mundy Tabu veneer. On top of that, the doors were to operate on a pivot system and sit flush against the wall when open, an elegant design choice that presented a unique engineering challenge.

We embraced the complexity of the task. Working closely with the client, we developed a small veneer sample and finish specification to ensure we were aligned on the desired outcome before moving into full production. Achieving a perfect match with the specified finish wasn’t easy. Traditional stain and lacquer techniques weren’t suitable, so our production team explored alternative methods. After some experimentation, including the careful application of tints, we achieved a finish that matched the approved sample perfectly.

Our attention to detail extended to the technical drawings, which captured every element of the doorset’s construction and installation. The bespoke nature of the veneer and pivot system required precise manufacturing techniques, and we made sure every specification was clearly documented and executed.

As with any complex project, we encountered technical challenges. We had to navigate certification limits related to the doorset’s size and select ironmongery that would integrate seamlessly with the custom design. To address these issues, we produced additional internal drawings and maintained open communication across our production and scheduling teams. When we submitted the final veneer and bead samples for review, we were pleased to receive prompt approval from the client, a testament to the collaborative effort and expertise of everyone involved.

Throughout the project, our contract management and scheduling teams closely monitored progress to ensure that the high level of detail and complexity was managed effectively. The remaining doorsets are now well into production and on track for timely delivery.

This project really highlights what we do best at Integrated Doorsets: adapting to evolving requirements, solving technical challenges collaboratively, and delivering bespoke solutions that meet exacting standards. By working closely with our clients and focusing on their vision, we continue to innovate and enhance the projects we’re proud to be part of. We’re looking forward to seeing the completed development and the role our craftsmanship plays in bringing the design to life.
