Junior Technician - Closing Date 30.04.26

 

Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Job Type: Full-time (on-site)
Experience Level: None
Salary: £25,848.28 per annum

We are seeking a Junior Technician to join our Technical Services team, supporting both testing and certification activities. This is a developmental role, ideal for someone with a practical and analytical mindset who is keen to build a long‑term technical career.

No prior experience in testing or certification is required. full training, mentoring and day‑to‑day support will be provided. Applications from internal candidates across the business are also welcome.

 

Key responsibilities

As a Junior Technician, you will support the Technical Services team across testing and certification activities, including:

  • Assisting in the creation of test specifications and preparation for product performance testing
  • Supporting sample builds and installations at UK test laboratories
  • Witnessing tests, reviewing test reports and maintaining accurate technical records
  • Managing test registers, schedules and supporting improvements to data recording processes
  • Reviewing project requirements and identifying required technical evidence
  • Gathering, organising and comparing test evidence against project specifications to identify gaps
  • Preparing summaries and findings for senior technical staff
  • Assisting with the compilation of project files and documentation for certification assessments
  • Supporting the development and organisation of EXAPs and documentation linked to EN‑based certification
  • Providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Contributing to forward‑planning for future testing and certification requirements
  • Occasional early starts and approximately one overnight stay per month

This is a learning‑focused role with structured guidance and senior oversight throughout.

 

Training, Support and Career Development

You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you build a long‑term technical career, including:

  • In‑house training across all areas of testing and certification
  • Training primarily based at Millennium Business Park, with visits to Ratcher and Longstoop factories
  • Step‑by‑step development of knowledge around standards, certification concepts and technical evidence
  • Ongoing mentoring from experienced members of the Technical Services team

 

As your skills and experience develop, there may be opportunities to progress into areas such as:

  • Fire door installation and maintenance training
  • Industry‑recognised testing and certification qualifications
  • Enhanced exposure to EN standards, EXAPs and wider compliance activity

Material Controller - Closing Date 30.04.26

The Material Controller plays a key role in supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the procurement function at Integrated Doorset Solutions. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, this role focuses on ensuring materials and services are available when needed to support uninterrupted production.

You will manage purchase orders, monitor material availability, maintain accurate system data and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues quickly. Over time, you’ll develop a strong understanding of your assigned material or service categories, combining operational awareness with growing commercial insight.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in procurement, materials control or supply chain who is detail‑driven, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Procurement Manager with the day‑to‑day operation of the procurement function
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with approved requisitions, pricing agreements and stock requirements
  • Monitor material availability daily to prevent production delays and resolve shortages or delivery issues quickly
  • Track open orders, confirm delivery dates with suppliers and keep systems and stakeholders up to date
  • Maintain accurate procurement data within ERP systems, including pricing, lead times, cost codes and delivery locations
  • Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies, quantity variances and quality concerns
  • Take ownership of allocated material, component or service categories and build detailed category knowledge
  • Monitor supplier performance, pricing and spend trends, highlighting risks or opportunities for improvement
  • Support stock planning through review of usage, demand signals, lead times and minimum stock levels
  • Assist with invoice matching and resolution of PO or pricing discrepancies with finance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies that reduce errors and improve reliability

 

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Previous experience in procurement, materials control or supply chain (1–2 years preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple internal stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands
  • Basic understanding of procurement or inventory processes
  • Confidence using ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • A practical, problem‑solving mindset with a willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • Experience working with IDSL systems
  • Knowledge of materials, components or services used within doorset, joinery or ironmongery manufacturing
  • Analytical skills such as spend analysis or usage tracking
  • Understanding of supplier performance metrics
  • Awareness of ESG, ethical sourcing or chain‑of‑custody standards (FSC/PEFC)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Studying towards, or willingness to study towards, CIPS or relevant industry qualifications

Senior Estimator - Closing Date 30.04.26

Salary: Depending on experience

The Senior Estimator plays a critical role within Integrated Doorset Solutions, delivering accurate, compliant and commercially sound estimates for bespoke doorsets, ironmongery and associated joinery packages.

Working closely with customers, sales, contracts and technical teams, this role supports projects from initial enquiry through to handover. You will apply strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and attention to detail to ensure quotations meet certification requirements, margin expectations and customer timescales.

As a senior member of the estimating team, you will also support the development of others through mentoring and knowledge‑sharing, helping to maintain high standards across estimating output and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce accurate quotations for bespoke doorsets, ironmongery, panelling and joinery packages in line with margin structures and certification requirements
  • Engage with customers to understand project requirements, specifications and delivery timescales
  • Respond confidently to project‑specific enquiries and provide technical guidance where required
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering, as well as gaps or conflicting information within enquiries, and feedback these findings to customers
  • Navigate internal systems, folder structures and servers to manage estimating documentation efficiently
  • Provide guidance to customers on Approved Documents and relevant industry standards
  • Attend internal project handover meetings to formally transfer won work to the contracts team
  • Attend customer meetings where required, contributing design solutions where original intent is not achievable
  • Support estimating performance targets, including turnaround times, accuracy and conversion rates
  • Mentor and support other team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practice

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience within an estimating role
  • Strong technical understanding of doorsets and ironmongery
  • Good working knowledge of Approved Documents and industry standards
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple bids or enquiries
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal and customer‑facing skills
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and self‑motivated approach
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
  • Commercial awareness and a structured approach to estimating and margin control
